Fuel transmission line for an oil and gas contractor
An EPC contractor building a refined product transmission line needed API 5L line pipe in mixed grades, with full heat-number traceability and third-party inspection written into the purchase order.
Traceability decided the award
The line moves refined product from a tank farm to a loading terminal. Traceability was the deciding factor: every joint needed to be traceable to its heat number, and the inspection plan had to be agreed before production started.
We nominated two partner mills, held pre-production meetings on chemical limits and test frequency, and arranged SGS witness inspection of hydrostatic, flattening and weld-seam tests for every shipment.

What went into the package
Line pipe
Mixed grades to API 5L PSL2, every joint traceable to its heat number from mill certificate to packing list.
Induction bends
Bends made from the same heats, matched to wall thickness and grade, so field welding needed no re-approval.
3PE coating
Three-layer polyethylene applied and holiday tested, with coating reports issued for every batch.
Inspection and documents
SGS witness plan agreed up front, with test records, certificates and loading photos issued per shipment.
